Noitom | Inertial and Hybrid Motion Capture Systems

Noitom is a motion capture company founded in 2012 in Beijing. Under the Perception Neuron brand, it builds inertial and optical-inertial hybrid systems. The core products are PN Hybrid, PN Link, PN Studio, and PN 3, used in film and animation, games, humanoid robotics, biomechanics, and digital humans.

About Us

Founded in 2012, Beijing Noitom Technology Ltd. is headquartered in Beijing and focuses on the research and application of human motion digitization. Noitom develops inertial motion capture and optical-inertial hybrid systems, and ships Perception Neuron hardware and software to teams in film, games, robotics, sports, and research.

Product Introduction

Perception Neuron is a series of motion capture products independently developed by Noitom The Perception Neuron series meets the professional needs of various application fields

PN 3 (Anti-magnetic)

PN 3 is Noitom's entry-level wireless inertial system. It uses small wireless sensors for the body and hands, with a transceiver, charging case, and carrying case. The anti-magnetic version is built for spaces where magnetic interference would throw off a standard inertial suit. PN 3 details

PN Studio (Anti-magnetic)

PN Studio sends data wirelessly over a large working area, with anti-magnetic sensors and a longer battery life. It is aimed at high-dynamic, athlete-level movement and fine finger capture. PN Studio details

PN Link

PN Link is a wired inertial system for sessions that must keep recording in complex environments. A cable connection carries continuous, high-precision motion data instead of relying on a wireless link. PN Link details

PN Hybrid

PN Hybrid fuses optical and inertial measurements. It works with matching or mixed rigid bodies and is described as reaching sub-millimeter accuracy, for stages that need both the range of inertial sensors and the positional lock of cameras. PN Hybrid details

Where Perception Neuron is used

Studios, labs, and robotics teams use the same sensor family in different ways. Film and game crews record full-body performance for characters and digital humans. Sports and clinical groups measure how a person actually moves. Industrial teams rehearse tasks in simulation. Embodied-intelligence labs stream human motion into humanoid robots and virtual agents.

How inertial and hybrid capture differ

An inertial suit measures rotation with sensors worn on the body. It does not need a camera volume, so it can travel with a performer. Magnetic interference and positional drift are the usual limits, which is why PN 3 and PN Studio offer anti-magnetic sensing, and why PN Link uses a wired link when the recording cannot drop.

Optical capture tracks markers with cameras and holds position well inside a calibrated volume. PN Hybrid keeps both: inertial sensors for the pose, and optical data for position, including mixed rigid bodies. Noitom states sub-millimeter accuracy for that fused setup.
